My Fellow Americans,
In this new era of technology, data, and digital life, privacy has become one of the most valuable—and most vulnerable—rights we have. Every day, our personal information moves through countless systems, platforms, and networks. Too often, decisions about what happens to that information are made far from the people it belongs to.
That ends now.
It’s time to put privacy back into the hands of the citizens.
Every American deserves the right to understand—and to decide—how their information is used. Under my leadership, we will create a system that gives every individual the power to make those choices once, clearly, and confidently.
Here’s how it works:
Each citizen will complete a one-time written privacy preference document—a personal declaration of your accepted privacy policy. This document will define what data you choose to share, what you wish to protect, and how you wish to be contacted or identified across public and private systems. Once written and registered, it will become your permanent privacy declaration—accessible, editable, and respected by all organizations that interact with you.
This approach restores ownership of personal data to where it belongs—with the people. No more confusing terms and conditions, no more fine print buried on websites, no more silent data collection. Instead, citizens will have clear, simple control over their digital presence and personal information.
Privacy is not a privilege—it’s a fundamental right. It protects our freedom of thought, our freedom of speech, and our freedom to live without surveillance or exploitation. In a healthy democracy, privacy is the shield that guards individual liberty.
By placing privacy policy in the hands of the citizens, we affirm the principle that government exists to serve—not to oversee—its people. This will be a cornerstone of my presidency: restoring trust between citizens, businesses, and government by creating transparency, security, and respect for personal choice.
The future of privacy will be simple, secure, and citizen-led.
With one document, you will define your digital boundaries.
With one declaration, your voice will be heard and honored.
And with one nation standing together for privacy, we will ensure that freedom in the 21st century remains truly free.
Let us move forward with clarity, dignity, and respect for every person’s right to choose what they share and what they protect.
